Biafra: Lai Mohammed reveals where Nnamdi Kanu may be

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has rejected claims that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is being held by the Nigerian Government.
Mohammed’s claim is coming days after the Nigerian army, under the ‘Operation Python Dance II’ invaded home of the IPOB leader and clashed with members of the group in Umuahia, Abia state capital.
Ever since the clash, the whereabouts of Kanu has remained unknown.
Reacting to the claim, Mohammed told reporters that, “He (Kanu) is not being held by government at all.”
According to him, Kanu has “crossed a line” with his agitation for Biafra and that he (Mohammed) suspects the IPOB leader could be hiding.

‘Nigerian Society Is Harder On Women Who Cheat’ – Simi

Singer Simisola Ogunleye, a.k.a Simi, has criticised the Nigerian society for its harsh treatment of women accused of cheating in relationships.
The musician who recently released her debut album titled ‘Simi’ in an interview with HIPTV, accused the society of being unjustly “harder” on women than it should be, especially when it came to apportioning blame for cheating in a relationship.
she said, “Nobody is allowed to cheat in a relationship, but they do it anyway. If a man cheats, he is treated like scum. If a woman cheats, she is treated like scum, too. Obviously, people are harder on women.’’

‘Nigerians Want PDP Back In 2019’ – Former Sports Minister, Prof. Adedoja

Nigerians are yearning for the Peoples’ Democratic Party to return to power in 2019, says a former Minister of Sports and Special Duties, Professor Taoheed Adedoja.
The former Minister while speaking with journalists in Abuja, noted that for Nigerians to be yearning for PDP to return to power under two years was an indication that something was wrong.
He said with discipline, the former ruling party will reclaim power in 2019.
According to Adedoja, “Sometimes, a party will rule for many years, the people in that country may not even want that party to come back again. Sometimes and depending on the country, they would let an opposition party to rule for another 16 years so that they can compare the two.
“But Nigerians are now in a hurry for PDP to come back only after two years. There is a reason for it.

“What Nigerians expect now is to give the PDP another opportunity to come back in 2019 to rule better. If therefore, Nigerians expect PDP to rule and rule better, the party platform in which the President of Nigeria will emerge must therefore be better, the process must be better and will involve a spectrum of PDP members.
“The 16 years that we were in power enabled the PDP to make a lot of positive changes in the lives of Nigerians in virtually all sectors of the economy-education, health, provision of infrastructure, changing the lifestyle of people including workers in this country in the area of agriculture, rural development, improvement in our railway system and the transportation system (air, road and sea).
“The PDP of today will bring us two things: the PDP of tomorrow and the new platform that will produce the President of Nigeria in 2019.
‘’Because the party is desirous of doing the right thing and to give Nigeria and PDP members fresh ideas to renew what it had done 16 years ago; I believe I owe Nigeria and PDP that opportunity of making myself available for the leadership of the party.
“Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led committee has promised Nigerians dividends of democracy better and that is why I have offered myself to lead the party to that promised manifesto; to lead the party to that promised reinvigoration of the aspirations of Nigerians in terms of their high expectations.’’

Kalakuta Books drops The Biafra Manifesto: The book that can stop a war

What is Biafra? Why is Biafra a beautiful dream to some, an imperative hope to some and an ugly, hateful and hopeless rhetoric to some?

What really is behind the movement?

Does the agitation for Biafra mean another civil war in Nigeria?

What is the motive behind Nnamdi Kanu's struggle for secession? How can the situation be resolved without escalation?

Following the launch of Operation Python Dance 2 by the Nigerian military forces Nigerians were suddenly confronted with the fact that the Biafra agitation must now be resolved with sensitivity, to avoid bloody escalation. Does the sudden designation of IPOB as a terrorist organisation mean the agitation is dead and buried?

The Biafra Manifesto examines what Nigeria should do to avoid political catastrophe.

Writer and researcher, Odega shawa, has meticulously put together a book that has the potential to resolve the conflict generated by Biafra without the waste of innocent blood. The language is simple, to make sure that everybody understands what the solution is
